The NWV Model Railroad Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about model railroading and promoting the hobby. We have a permanent HO-scale model railroad layout in Essex Junction, Vermont, and we have portable layouts in multiple scales which we display at events in the region throughout the year.
We are also informally known as “the NWV,” which is an abbreviation for the Northwestern Vermont Model Railroad Society, our original name before re-organizing as a non-profit organization in 2008. The goal of this web site is to provide you with useful information about our organization and this timeless and fascinating hobby, to encourage you to join us in the enjoyment of model railroading.
The NWV is currently building an exciting expansion to our home HO layout, which will nearly double its size! Details of the expansion can be found on the “HO Scale Main Layout” page. We also have a new N-scale T-Trak modular group which has displayed their growing collection of modules at six events to date.
Here are a couple of photos of our home HO layout taken at our December 2023 open house, go to the “Photos Gallery” page to see more.

And our new N-scale modular T-Trak layout, also taken at our December 2023 open house, go to the “Photos Gallery” page to see more.

Photographs of our traveling HO scale modular layout can be seen in the “Photos Gallery” page too.
